ABOUT BATBA

Organization Purpose

Bay Area Taiwanese Biotech Association (BATBA) is a non-profit organization and shall operate exclusively for educational and charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future Federal tax code.

BATBA’s purpose is to foster career development of the young Taiwanese generation, and to enhance scientific communications and collaborations among biotech sectors in the US and Taiwan.

Our program includes scientific and/or career seminars, workshops and networking events for biotech professionals. To maximize our impact on current efforts, we may seek to collaborate with other organizations which are operated for the same educational and charitable purposes.

Main Missions

1. Networking: Create a vibrant Taiwanese biotech community to achieve synergy of talents through workshops, symposiums, and social gatherings.

2. Education: Provide a platform for emerging Taiwanese leaders in biotech to communicate scientific developments and business ideations, as well as to offer career coaching to young professionals and students.  

3. Bridging: Unlock the value of Taiwanese expatriate network by connecting a plethora of business, academic, and human resources in the Bay Area to Taiwan’s indigenous biotech sector.
